Article: Hunter faces at least three rivals in bid to take over Selfridges department stores

TOM Hunter, the retail entrepreneur, is facing at least three challengers to his bid to buy department store group Selfridges.

It is believed the Reuben brothers, two of Britain's wealthiest individuals, are meeting their advisers this weekend.

Robert Tchenguiz, the Iranian property tycoon, is also understood to be in the running and is in talks with Royal Bank of Scotland to fund a 580m pounds bid.

Galen Weston, the Canadian billionaire and one of the family that part-owns Associated British Foods, is also interested.
