Article: McLean gang member reveals drug-runner's 'sting operations' with Customs

A CLOSE criminal associate of Scottish gangster Roddy McLean, whose mysterious death in a London bedsit was revealed last week, has exposed the astonishing extent of his boss's links to UK police, Customs and the security services.

The former gang member claims that the disastrous drug smuggling operation that resulted in the death of a Customs officer and put McLean in jail for 21 years had been agreed with UK authorities in a bid to catch major Dutch drug traffickers.

The convicted smuggler, who has asked not to be identified, reveals this was one of a number of "sting" operations arranged with the authorities, some of which conveniently took rival gangsters out of circulation.
