ALLIANCE Trust is expected to pump GBP 600m into technology and
growth companies by creating a private equity business which will
rank among the biggest in the UK.
Alliance Trust Equity Partners will have a budget of GBP 125m to
invest directly in healthcare, software and other technology
companies. It will also put between GBP 400m and GBP 500m into
private equity funds focused on growing, profitable firms. An
announcement is due tomorrow.
The GBP 600m bet on high-growth companies is the latest stage in
Alliance chief executive Alan Harden's plan to move the Dundee
investment house away from a reliance on quoted equities.
