SCOTLAND'S largest local authority yesterday voted to increase its
council tax by 1.9 per cent.
Glasgow City Council also commended its GBP 1.2 billion spending
plans with commitments to key priorities in education and social
work.
However, city treasurer Craig Roberton insisted future council tax
rises at or below inflation would continue to be a "key financial
objective" for an administration which still has the highest charges
in Scotland.
From April, the council tax bill on an average band D home will
rise from GBP 1,120 to GBP 1,141.
Residents living in band A properties will pay GBP 760.67 while
those in the highest band H homes will pay GBP 2,282. Elsewhere at
