IT'S impossible to measure the scale of the disaster South African
rugby suffered at Murrayfield on Saturday - but only because the
scale does not go that low.
If one of the Springboks supporters in the crowd had lowered one
of the uprights, tossed it on a bonfire and placed the ashes in a
small urn it could not have been a more appropriate symbol; because
on a day that all South African rugby men will spend as long trying
to forget as Scotsmen will glowingly remember, this was the moment at
which South African rugby died.
But before we get to the sackcloth and ashes part, let's toast the
