Article: Allegations against Sir Alex Ferguson dismissed

SOUTH African prosecutors yesterday dismissed a complaint of indecent assault against Sir Alex Ferguson, stating that it would be "ridiculous" to proceed with allegations which had "wasted everyone's time".

The news that the criminal inquiry was at an end came after a Sunday tabloid paid 21-year-old Nadia Abrahams for the full account of her story.

Ms Abrahams claimed the Manchester United manager assaulted her in her car as they returned from a jazz club in the early hours of Friday.

She said the 60-year-old Scot had climbed into her car uninvited, asking her for a lift back to his hotel.
