Article: Scottish house prices leap 10.5 per cent

BUBBLING it may be, but the Scottish house market showed no signs of boiling over in the three months to October as the average value headed onwards and upwards to 78,593 pounds.

According to the latest snapshot of the property market from Lloyds TSB Scotland, house prices increased by 6.5 per cent in the quarter to last month.

That was the biggest gain on record since Lloyds TSB began comparable figures in 1996. On an annual basis, Scottish house prices rose by 10.5 per cent - again the highest rate on Lloyds' books in seven years.
