ROBBIE Bargh, director of the Gorgeous Group - national bar
consultancy experts known for working with the likes of Malmaison
hotel group - predicts the cocktail will be the drink to be seen with
this Christmas, giving Champagne some tough competition during the
party season.
"Long gone are the days of naff cocktails with umbrellas and
sticky mulled wine. As with wine, guests are no longer accepting
unknown or cheap 'house' gins or vodkas. Knowing which brands have
substance has become as important a social currency as being able to
select a decent wine in a restaurant."
