Article: RBoS chief on GBP 3.44m a year

FRED Goodwin, the chief executive of Royal Bank of Scotland, was awarded an GBP 870,000 rise in his remuneration last year, bringing it to GBP 3.44 million, it has been revealed.

The bank unveiled details of his pay package yesterday, in its annual report to shareholders. It showed Mr Goodwin received GBP 898,000 in salary and fees, a GBP 990,000 bonus, about GBP 28,000 in benefits, and GBP 1.53 million under a performance-related incentive plan.

The total payout exceeded last year's record remuneration for an executive in Scotland - also held by Mr Goodwin - of GBP 2.58 million.
