One day after 12 white teen-agers were charged in connection
with a racial attack in Queens last December, an aide to the special
state prosecutor said today that the investigation will now focus on
the driver of the car that hit and killed one of the three black
victims.
Three youths were charged Tuesday with second-degree murder and
nine others were indicted on charges ranging from attempted murder to
rioting. The charges were contained in a 41-count, seven-page
indictment that was unsealed in State Supreme Court. The defendants,
ages 16 to 19, pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
According to the indictment, early on the morning of Dec. 20
