On a night when center Moses Malone was unable to answer the
opening horn for the first time in 50 games, the Washington Bullets
nevertheless won their third game in four tries on their swing
through the NBA's Western Conference, defeating the Phoenix Suns,
124-110.
Malone, suffering dizziness and flu-like symptoms, started to
walk onto the court here at Veterans Memorial Coliseum but then
thought better of it. When he did return to action early in the
second quarter, he quickly made the Suns feel woozy, scoring 36
points.
Throughout the night, all-star guard Jeff Malone drove Phoenix to
distraction. He led all scorers with 38 points, matching his season
