The Washington Bullets broke an 11-year dry spell in convincing
fashion tonight, holding the high-powered Los Angeles Lakers
scoreless for a 4:28 span of the fourth quarter and winning, 114-99,
at the Forum.
The last time Washington won at the Forum was January 25, 1976.
Tonight, Washington won its fourth game in five attempts and seventh
in nine with some inspired play by center Moses Malone and some
clutch performances from its reserves.
Malone, who missed the start of Monday night's victory over
Phoenix because of the flu, started tonight's game but took a hard
spill in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter. Nevertheless,
