At the Feb. 3 meeting of Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC)
1D, the commissioners voted to oppose an application to the Board of
Zoning Adjustment by the Government of Austria to build an addition
with an underground garage at the Austrian chancellery at 2343
Massachusetts Ave. NW. The commissioners said the addition would
make the building an attached villa, which did not maintain its
original architecture.
In a poll of the 45 people attending the meeting, 37 voted not to
support the application and seven abstained.
The commission voted to take no position on a BZA application by
the People's Republic of China to build an addition with an indoor
