Instead of receiving instructions from Coach Kevin Loughery, the
Washington Bullets took the floor at the Salt Palace a good minute
before the start of the fourth quarter of tonight's game against the
Utah Jazz. The Jazz took every second of its allotted time, and it
returned to the floor a unit of five substitutes.
Each was a reaction to the previous three periods, the Bullets'
eagerness a result of their 98 points, a sizable number that
infuriated Utah Coach Frank Layden. The Jazz reserves played well
enough to cut a 15-point lead to two but, by game's end, Washington
had survived to win its third straight, 118-113.
The triumph improved the Bullets to 29-23, six games over .500
