Article: Dire, oh dear, at the Hub of politics

AT LAST, I have been to the new parliament at Holyrood. And, lo, they had moved up the road to the Hub. I'm glad really. I've developed a phobia about the place. My visit this week was just to pick up a security pass, for which I was led down Kafkaesque corridors, past torture chambers and mysterious doors marked "Catering".

After initial trouble getting into the building - the various bits of bamboo I was hauling on turned out to be windows rather than doors - I was cheerily greeted by the people who love me most in parliament: the security guards. What lovely folk they are.

We stood swapping anecdotes and reminiscences, though I did not understand one particular thing that had made them ...
