Forth and Clyde lead the way as 'big city' network takes off

A STRONG sales performance from Scots stations including Forth and Clyde has helped parent company Emap to a 39 per cent increase in its radio group's revenue s.

The former Scottish Radio Holdings stations were taken over by Emap in 2005 and now form part of the company's 20- strong "big city" network including well known brands like Hallam FM in Sheffield, Radio City in Liverpool and Metro Radio in Newcastle .

Unveiling its half-year results, Emap yesterday revealed radio revenues had risen from GBP 58 million to GBP 81m in the six months to 30 September.
