IT COULD be a case of heading from the frying pan into the fire
when the Borders return to the Magners League tonight at the
intimidating home of the reigning champions.
After being well beaten at Northampton in the Heineken Cup, Steve
Bates' Reivers are back into a league in which they languish at the
foot of the table, away to leaders Ulster. They will run out at the
noisy Ravenhill without their inspirational Samoan lock Opeta Palepoi
due to injury, Ross Ford, the hooker, who is suspended, and Scotland
pair Gav Kerr and Kelly Brown.
The Reivers have won only once on the road in their past 11 league
games, at Glasgow in March, while Ulster are bidding to register
