Many of us have been stirred by the plight of the homeless, and
our stirrings have led us to stir up our basements. We spend rainy
Saturdays down under, assembling cast-aside clothing and furniture to
donate to the needy.
But how does one get the goodies from one's cellar to a needy
person's doorstep? Many well-meaning people don't have the slightest
idea where to look or of whom to call. So, all too often, perfectly
useful "donatables" continue to sit over by the hot water heater,
gathering dust.
