DOCTORS are growing increasingly concerned about the risks of obesity during pregnancy, leading to a major new study taking place in Glasgow.

With Scotland's obesity epidemic expected to get worse before it gets better, much research is under way looking at what can be done to reduce the nation's waistlines.

One such study at Glasgow University will now investigate how obesity affects both mother and baby during pregnancy and the risk of complications.
