ROYAL Bank of Scotland's six top executives earned a total of GBP
18.7 million last year, including a 38 per cent leap in remuneration
for chief executive Sir Fred Goodwin.
Goodwin saw his total remuneration rise to GBP 3.99m in 2006 from
GBP 2.89m in 2005, including a GBP 2.76m performance bonus on top of
a basic salary of GBP 1.19m, according to the bank's report and
accounts published yesterday.
RBS's new finance director, Guy Whittaker, who joined the company
on 1 February, 2006, after being poached from his job with Citigroup
in New York, was paid GBP 4.5m.
This included a performance bonus of GBP 1.19m, and an award of
GBP 1m of shares in RBS, and a "golden hello" payment of GBP ...
