Article: Small But Beautiful: Black Rock oil strike sends its shares soaring

TINY Black Rock Oil & Gas has struck oil in Colombia, sending its shares soaring by 70 per cent.

A well drilled by AIM-listed Black Rock's joint venture partner Kappa Resources Colombia to a depth of 3,970ft at Acacia Este in the Las Quinchas Association Contract in Colombia made the strike.

The company, which also operates in the North Sea, said a preliminary interpretation of the logs shows "oil saturation in good quality porous sandstones".

Results of the testing of the well should be available in the next couple of weeks.
