HIS band defined heavy rock in the 1970s, became a byword for
hedonism, filled stadiums across the world and created an enduring
myth that continues to sell huge numbers of albums.
But Jimmy Page, the Led Zeppelin guitarist, played to a different
audience yesterday at the sheriff court in Glasgow.
The man who is responsible for some of rocks's most famous riffs,
from Whole Lotta Love to Kashmir, was in Scotland as star witness in
a trial against music bootlegging.
At the height of Zeppelin's fame in the 1970s, Page might have
been used to sweeping into a stadium in a limousine. Yesterday, the
63-year-old - now the possessor of an OBE - queued patiently to go
