Article: Wool clip returns unhurt by bad weather

WOOL arriving at the British Wool Marketing Board's depots in Scotland is well up to schedule for the time of year.

Despite the difficult summer weather, wool produced from flocks in the Highlands and Islands has been arriving steadily at the boards' most northerly depot at Evanton, near Alness in Sutherland.

Frank Langrish, the chairman of the BWMB, earlier this week visited Evanton for the first time. He said: "We take not only in wool from some of the UK's most remote farms but also from large numbers of small island flocks run by crofters."
