In the Chevy Chase section of Northwest Washington, some people
do come home again-and they like it.
After years of living out of town and in the suburbs, Matthew
Finucane, a lawyer in his mid-30s, bought a sturdy brick house three
years ago just a few blocks from where he was raised. His two
preschool children now use the playground at Lafayette School, where
Finucane himself went through the elementary grades.
"She'll be coming here, too," he said last week as his l
