The Baltimore Orioles continued their turnaround today, getting a
10th-inning home run from Fred Lynn in beating the Montreal Expos,
4-2, for their fourth straight exhibition victory.
Improving their spring-training record to 13-13 with two games
remaining, the Orioles turned five double plays, got another strong
performance from starting pitcher Eric Bell and an inning of
impressive relief work from Mark Williamson.
Only last Sunday in this stadium, the Orioles looked as if they
might never win again. The Atlanta Braves beat them, 12-1, and,
after watching their team get outscored, 77-35, over an eight-game
stretch, Orioles officials were morose.
