WASHINGTON, Aug. 16 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The Humane Society of the
United States (HSUS), the nation's largest animal protection
organization, today announced that Keiko is continuing to make
astounding progress towards successful reintroduction to the wild,
having spent 41 days and covering hundreds of miles swimming in the
open ocean. Keiko's quest for freedom appears to be near fruition.
Keiko is outfitted with transmitters that track his progress.
Today's reading puts his location at 100 miles north of the eastern
Faroe Islands. This is hundreds of miles away from the base of the
Keiko Project in Iceland's Westman Islands.
Tracking of Keiko has been by remote satellite ever since a storm
