statement from the Texas Justice Foundation regarding the nomination
of Texas Supreme Court Justice Priscilla Owen to the Fifth Circuit:
A coalition of groups today in Austin, Texas, unfairly attacked
Texas Supreme Court Justice Priscilla Owen who is being considered by
the Senate after her for nomination to the Fifth Circuit Court of
Appeals by President Bush.
Just because Priscilla Owen is a conservative justice who
interprets the law rather than creating new laws according to
liberals' dreams of social utopia is not a sufficient reason for her
to be denied nomination to the Fifth ...
