Profile America -- Wednesday, January 1st. The first and some
would say the best ever country music star in America died on this
day 50 years ago, in Oak Hill, Virginia. Hiram King Williams, far
better known as "Hank," was just 29-years old when he died of a heart
attack on his way to perform in Ohio. Many of the songs he wrote
remain classics, including Your Cheatin' Heart; Cold, Cold, Heart;
and Honky Tonk Blues. Hank Williams taught himself to play the guitar
at the age of 8 and by 14 was leading his own band on radio ...
