ADL Shocked by Discovery of Anti-Semitic Passages in President Truman's Diary

NEW YORK, July 11 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today was shocked to learn that President Harry S. Truman, long regarded as a friend of the Jewish people for his support for a Jewish homeland in the years after the Holocaust, had given voice to ugly anti-Semitism in his personal diary. Newly released diary excerpts, including stern references to the classical anti-Semitic canard of Jews caring only for themselves, "Reveal that, sadly, President Truman was indeed a man of his times, and that much less a man because of it."
