WASHINGTON, Sept. 16 /U.S. Newswire/ -- During a press conference on Wednesday, September 17, 2003, Congressman Edward Markey (D-7th- Mass.) and the Coalition of Airline Pilots Associations (CAPA) unveil CAPA's Annual Aviation Security Report Card.

Congressman Ed Markey stated, that he reason he introduced the Universal Screening of Air Cargo Act, H.R. 2455, is because 22 percent of all cargo is carried on passenger planes and is unscreened and un-inspected. "My first objective is to pass the current legislation to screen cargo on passenger planes and then pass legislation to screen the cargo which goes onto cargo planes."
