by Andrea Kavanagh of the National Environmental Trust:
"I congratulate the South African and Australian authorities on
apprehending the Viarsa. It has taken a lot of patience and money to
chase the Viarsa through the cold waters of Southern Antarctica."
"This chase has shown the lengths people will go to obtain Chilean
Sea Bass - a fish so valuable, illegal fishermen are willing to force
a three week chase across thousands of miles, while the whole world
is watching."
