Everything the Washington Bullets could not afford to have
happen in their NBA first-round playoff series against Detroit came
to pass almost from the opening minutes of Game 1 tonight at the
Pontiac Silverdome. As a result, the Pistons rolled to 106-92
victory.
There was poor shooting by the Bullets, including misses on a
number of easy chances. There was Washington's key man, center Moses
Malone, making only three of 17 field goal attempts and 14 points.
There was Detroit forward Adrian Dantley slashing to the basket,
scoring 11 first-quarter points and getting Charles Jones in early
foul trouble.
