WASHINGTON, Dec. 23 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) issued the following statement in response to the recently released VHA Directive 2004-070, which limits the performance of therapeutic laser surgery in the VA system to qualified ophthalmologists:
