MANHATTAN, Kan., Jan. 19 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The sixth oldest
college of veterinary medicine in the United States is approaching
its 100th birthday.
The Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine was
established in 1905. Since the first seven students graduated in
1907, the college has graduated more than 5,000 men and women into
the field of veterinary medicine.
"We started out as a program designed only for men to take care of
farm animals," said Dr. Ronnie Elmore, associate dean of the College
of Veterinary Medicine. "We've become a program that incorporates
both genders and covers a wide range of animals, from farm animals
