"There's a personal satisfaction that you get out of this.
You've been able to drive yourself beyond the edge of pain," said
Gar-Field rowing Coach Joe Carlson. "And when you get in the boat,
it's a magic feeling, when that thing is going well, you're rowing
hard, but it feels like nothing."
At the Sandy Run Regatta held recently on Occoquan Lake, teams
from around the area came to experience that "magic feeling." It was
a celebration of the old and the new. T.C. Williams was there,
representing Alexandria's 40th year of rowing competition, along with
W.T. Woodson, racing for the first time. With Gar-Field, Potomac,
West Potomac and Woodbridge still relatively new to the sport and ...
