Article: League to Release Findings on Civil Liberties Project; LeagueExamines Citizens' Views of Civil Liberties and Homeland Security

The League of Women Voters will release the findings and recommendations from its project, Local Voices: Citizen Conversations on Civil Liberties and Secure Communities, on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 10 a.m. in the U.S. Capitol Building. Local Voices is the League's multi-faceted initiative to foster public dialogue about the balance between civil liberties and homeland security. The findings of the Local Voices project are based on recent public opinion polls and in- depth conversations with citizens across the country. The presentation will be followed by remarks from panelists who will address these complex issues and the role of the media in this area.
