PITTSBURGH, Pa., Jan. 20 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Allegheny County
Medical Examiner Cyril H. Wecht has been indicted on federal charges
of theft of honest services, mail fraud, wire fraud and theft from an
organization receiving federal funds, in connection with the use of
his official position and the resources of his office for private
financial gain, United States Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan announced
today.
The 84-count indictment, returned today by a federal grand jury in
the Western District of Pennsylvania, names Wecht, 74, of 5420
Darlington Road, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as the sole defendant.
According to Ms. Buchanan, "The indictment alleges that Cyril
Wecht abused the position, ...
