WASHINGTON, March 7 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Challenges, ranging from
poverty to illness to abuse, have not deterred fifty high school
seniors across the state of South Dakota from pursuing their dreams
of a better future. In recognition of their determination, strength
of character and academic promise, each is being awarded a Horatio
Alger South Dakota Scholarship valued at $2,500 in support of their
collegiate studies. (A complete list of the 2006 Horatio Alger
South Dakota Scholars immediately follows this release.)
This class of high school seniors is the first to receive
scholarships from the Horatio Alger South Dakota Scholars Program.
