For 13-year-old Lakeesha Reynolds and her mother, Kathy Foreman,
34, it was a day full of anticipation and surprises. They hadn't
seen each other in the three years that Kathy Foreman has been in
prison.
Foreman, sentenced to a maximum of 15 years imprisonment for
malicious disfigurement while armed, did not recognize the tall, slim
teen-ager dressed in all-pink waving at her from the gates of
Alderson Federal Correctional Institution for Women here.
"I didn't recognize her from the beginning," Foreman said. "Then
she said, `It's me, Mommy. You don't know me?' It's been so long,"
