URBANDALE, Iowa, Oct. 5 /PRNewswire-US Newswire/ -- Rep. Leonard
Boswell (D-Iowa) yesterday attended the grand opening of a new retail
showroom for The SCOOTER Store, and raised questions about new
Medicare policies that would slash reimbursements for power
wheelchairs by 21 percent to 41 percent and restrict access to
mobility equipment for Medicare beneficiaries.
Everyone wants to be independent, Boswell said, adding: "People
need access to this equipment. There are proposals to cut
reimbursement rates, which is not good for the manufacturers,
