Coasting along with a 3-1 lead after 22 minutes, the Edmonton
Oilers awarded themselves the Stanley Cup tonight. That mental
presentation turned out to be premature.
With Brian Propp setting up all four goals, the Philadelphia
Flyers bounced back to win, 4-3, and extended the hockey season at
least two more days. Rick Tocchet's second goal of the game was the
winner with 14:34 left, after Propp stole the puck from Craig Muni in
the Edmonton end.
"This was just like a carbon copy of my {series-winning} goal in
Montreal," Tocchet said. "I just had to stand there and Brian Propp
fed me again. He's been just great. I'd like to play with him for
the next 10 years."
