Cuban President Fidel Castro metSunday with visiting Mexican President Vicente Fox at the headquarters of the Cuban government.

The two leaders held private talks after Castro welcomed Fox atthe Revolution Palace in Havana, where the Mexican president received a military salute.

Fox, who was on a 24-hour official visit to the Caribbean country, was welcomed at Havana's International Airport by the Cuban Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque.

The Mexican president, accompanied by his wife, Martha Sahagun,Foreign Minister Jorge Castaneda and other cabinet members and entrepreneurs, said "we're delighted to be here to strengthen and improve our relations."
