Article: Sri Lanka Expresses Concern Over Middle East Situation

the Sri Lankan government expressed on Monday its grave concern over the deterioration of the security situation in the Middle East and called for a halt tothe violence and the resumption of negotiations on a political settlement to the conflict between Palestine and Israel.

The foreign ministry said in a statement that Sri Lanka sees real opportunities for establishment of a viable peace do exist inthe Middle East following the adoption of a United Nations Security Council resolution on the worsening situation in the region.
