Article: Iran Drafts Emergency Plan to Deal With Unemployment

Iranian President Mohammad Khatami on Saturday disclosed that the government has drafted an emergency plan aimed to create more jobs to deal with present high rate of unemployment, the official IRNA news agency reported.

Speaking to a large gathering of workers at the Azadi Sports Stadium here, Khatami noted that ministries of labor and social affairs, finance and economy, the Central Bank of Iran and the state- run Management and Planning Organization (MPO) have drafted the emergency plan, saying he hopes the cabinet will approve it.
