LAGOS, June 12 (Xinhua) -- As the first World Day Against ChildLabor was launched by the International Labor Organization (ILO) on Wednesday and Africa is ready to celebrate this year's African Child Day on Sunday, eradication of child labor is a desirous giftfor African children.

According to ILO, 246 million children, one in six children from the ages 5 to 17 in the world, are involved in child labor, anumber nearly as large as the total population of the United States (280 million).

Africa lists the top of child labor cases in the world with about 80 million child workers, a number that could rise to 100 million by 2015.
