S.Korea begins salvage operation of sunken boat

SEOUL, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- South Korea began a salvage operation Monday morning for a patrol boat which sank during an inter-Korean clash on June 29 in the Yellow Sea, said the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS).

A 4,300-ton rescue vessel, several barges, some 60 scuba divers as well as military and civilian equipment have been dispatched to waters near the battle site west of Yeonpyeong Island, the JCS was quoted as saying by the national news agency Yonhap ...
