UNHCR: Sudden increase of returnees from Iran due to pressure

KABUL, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- UN High Commissioner for Refugees ( UNHCR) Sunday expressed its shock at the sudden increase in the number of refugee returns from Iran, which is believed a result of "induced" pressure by the Iranian authorities.

"UNHCR office in Mashad warned this morning that 3,000 people are crossing the Dogharoun border," UNHCR spokesperson Maki Shinohara told reporters at a regular press briefing for UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA).
