Medicinal herbs make north China city prosper
SHIJIAZHUANG, August 13 (Xinhua) -- Local farmers in Anguo city in
north China's Hebei Province have made their fortune by growing
medicinal herbs.
Anguo has been known as China's "medicinal herbs capital" for
over 1,000 years.
Thanks to the encouragement of the local government, over 70, 000
rural families are engaged in planting and processing the herbs,
bringing an annual income of 36.64 million yuan (about 4.40 million
US dollars).
