Zambian president vows to bring down inflation to single digit
LUSAKA, July 31 (Xinhua) -- Zambian President Levy Mwanawasa has
reiterated his resolve to bring down inflation to a single digit and
cautioned workers against demanding for unrealistic salary
increments.
The Zambian president said his government's efforts of bringing
down inflation will be futile if workers continued to demand for
salary increments which both the government and companies cannot
afford.
Mwanawasa said this in the central mining town of Kabwe Tuesday
when he addressed Zambia-China Mulungushi Textiles Joint Venture
Ltd.
