Global wireless LAN shipments to grow 73 percent in 2002
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- Worldwide local area network
(LAN) shipments are on pace to grow 73 percent in 2002, while
revenue will increase 26 percent, according to a report released
Thursday by technology market research firm Dataquest.
In sharp contrast to flat sales of other technology industries,
the wireless LAN sector will continue this consistent growth in
2003, as worldwide wireless LAN shipments total 26.5 million units,
up from 15.5 million units in 2002, said Dataquest.
It predicts that wireless LAN revenue will reach almost 2.8
billion US dollars in 2003, up from 2.1 billion dollars in 2002. The
